Wholesale FAQ
What are the requirements for becoming a vendor?
A valid resale license is required for becoming a vendor. Brick and mortar resale shops with an indoor, climate-controlled area for seeds is our most important requirement to ensure seed viability. We do permit online businesses to become retailers on a case by case basis. We do not permit our seeds to be sold at farmers markets, open-air pop-ups, or farm stands.
Is there an order minimum?
All wholesale orders must meet the a minimum order quantity value of $150.
How does pricing work?
Seed packets are priced at 45% of the MSRP. Seed collection boxes, sprouting seeds, and microgreen seeds are all priced at 45 to 50% off the MSRP.
How do I place a wholesale order?
Once approved as a vendor, wholesale orders can be placed by logging into your account at http://www.sowtrueseedwholesale.com. For new customers, after onboarding with our Wholesale Manager, you will receive a link to set up your account and place your first order online.
What payment methods do you accept for wholesale orders?
We accept credit card payments on online orders, mail-in checks, and 30-day terms on a case by case customer basis.
How long does it take to process a wholesale order?
Wholesale orders are processed in the order they are received. Standard order processing time is two to three business days, with additional time for shipping. During our busiest season, December through February, order processing time may increase.
Can I get wholesale pricing on additional items at sowtrueseed.com such as seasonal bulbs, live plants, or farmer-grown seeds?
Wholesale customers may receive a 20% discount on non-wholesale seed varieties that are not farmer grown. We do not offer discounts on farmer grown seeds. These special orders are dependent on seed availability and must be placed by reaching out to wholesale@sowtrue.com directly. Seasonal bulbs and live plants are not eligible for wholesale discounts.
I’m new to offering seeds in my store, do you offer pre-selected bundles?
Yes! We offer bundles of our best selling seeds to make ordering easy. You will find our bestseller veggie bundle, flower bundle, and herb bundle. We also offer season spring and fall bundles, as well as a mixed bundle to fill our 45 panel wooden rack.
Do I have to purchase a Sow True Seed branded display? Do you offer additional signage?
It is not required to purchase a branded display, but it is strongly encouraged. Our displays foster recognition with your customers, are fitted for the types of products we sell, and they happen to look great too! We do offer a laminated, branded sign per request.
