HEIRLOOM. This long-time reliable favorite, introduced in the 1840s, is a speedy producer of beautiful, tightly packed, conical heads weighing 2 to 4 pounds each. Its sweet and mild flavor and crunchy texture makes it an excellent choice for fresh eating in coleslaws and salads.

Early Jersey Wakefield cabbage can be seeded indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, and transplanted out after the last frost date, or direct seeded in midsummer for fall harvest. It prefers full sun, but can tolerate part shade, especially in very hot weather. Heads are ready to harvest in about 68 days. 1.75 gram packet contains approximately 410 seeds.
