Phaseolus vulgaris
HEIRLOOM. This highly productive, stringless pole bean was introduced by W. Atlee Burpee in 1885 and remains a favorite today. It is presumably so named because the pods are so plentiful and quick to harvest. If you miss some pods at their peak, don’t worry - this dual-purpose variety yields buttery-flavored dried beans as well.
Lazy Housewife pole beans can be direct seeded in the garden as soon as all danger of frost has passed. Make sure to have a trellis ready for them when they sprout. Pods will be ready to harvest at snap bean stage in about 80 days. 21 gram packet contains approximately 45 seeds.
